We have regular collections of metal, glass, paper, cardboard, cooking oil and plastics for recycling.
Hazardous waste, batteries and light bulbs are collected and disposed of safely.
We are working towards using fewer resources, such as paper. All our photocopiers are being replaced with newer models offering a scanning facility, and the default setting as double-sided printing.
Written communications and brochures are sent electronically rather than in hard copy wherever possible. For 2013 we printed 50% fewer brochures than during 2012.
All commercial waste that cannot be recycled is taken to the energy recovery unit in south London (www.selchp.com) so nothing produced at One Great George Street reaches landfill sites.
