Aiming for Gold

You may have heard that we’ve won a few awards this year such as ‘Best Gala Dinner Venue’, ‘Best Marketing Manager’, ‘Highly Commended Press Conference Venue’, ‘Best Conference Venue’ and, most recently, we have also been judged as an ‘AIM Gold Accredited Venue’. We find the achievement of these awards hold value internally as much as externally by giving us an opportunity to recognise the hard work of our staff, learning from the feedback given by judges and allowing us to streamline our processes.

We most recently achieved AIM Gold Status but what is AIM and what does this achievement mean for our customers? A lot of venues, including us, are busy with their ‘day jobs’ so it can be difficult to take a step back & review what we do; the processes we follow to ensure customer service delivery, legal compliance & due diligence. This accreditation scheme ensures all procedures & processes are reviewed, thus keeping them up-to-date and relevant to the business.

We have been classified as AIM Gold for the 4th consecutive time (spanning 12 years) with our highest score yet of 98%! This is the gold standard of awards which assures clients of exceptional levels of service & quality. As a result of the feedback process, there’s always room for improvement, and in the past we’ve taken the opportunity to re-do our T&C’s, better employ the creativity of staff with new schemes e.g. ‘Idea of the month’ & lead the industry with non-obligatory but useful alcohol volume information.

Having recently undergone a detailed assessment, I am pleased to say that One Great George Street has again achieved AIM Gold. The venue first gained AIM Gold accreditation over 12 years ago and was only the second venue to be awarded gold in London. The process takes place every three years and allows us to review and improve targets and processes. Over the years it has been instrumental in gaining us key events such as the media centre for the Olympic and Paralympic games.
